Aimee Barnes manages U.S. Regulatory Affairs for EcoSecurities, where she focuses on strategic analysis of, and advocacy related to US state, regional and federal climate change policy initiatives. She has a strong knowledge of project-based emission reductions (carbon offsets) for compliance and voluntary markets, voluntary carbon market standards, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), and an interest in environmental justice issues.

Before joining EcoSecurities, Ms. Barnes received her MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where she worked on the TransLinks Project with the Wildlife Conservation Society. She has also worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) supporting their California state policy, land and Latino outreach programs. She holds an honors B.A. in Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College, where she also studied conservation at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She currently represents EcoSecurities in a number of coalitions, including as President of the Coalition for Emission Reduction Projects (CERP).
