David Laituri is a co-founder and the creative director of Sprout Creation, a unique product creation company located in New England. Sprout Creation's first brand is Vers, a line of handcrafted sound systems for iPod and iPhone that is being distributed in 25 countries. Previously, David held the role of director of Product Development for innovation retailer Brookstone, where he actively managed the development and delivery of more than 200 new products in a two-year period. David has held progressive leadership positions in corporate and consulting organizations, and he counts startups and Fortune 500 firms among his past clients, including Apple, Nike, General Motors, IBM, Steelcase, Oxo, Proctor & Gamble and Hewlett-Packard.
Over the course of his 22-year career, David has developed indepth experience developing strategies and products for a range of product sectors, including office furniture, automotive, computers, medical equipment, consumer electronics, photography, sporting goods, toys and game software. With a degree in product design from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Westminster, London, David's career has focused on seeking new ways to leverage design as a competitive advantage in business.
David has taught and lectured on design, design strategy, product development and related topics at universities in the United States and Europe, including the College for Creative Studies, Stanford University, MIT and Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has also conducted intensive design workshops at the former Art Center Europe in Switzerland, Strate College in Paris, France, and the Hochschule fur Gestaltung in Pforzheim, Germany.
David has 41 patents and has won 10 awards from the Industrial Designer's Society of America, of which he is a member.
