Gretchen Hancock is the project manager for
Corporate Environmental Programs at GE. She coordinates GE's progress on its ecomagination commitment associated with reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy use globally. Gretchen also drives simplification and Lean activities into environment, health, and safety (EHS) at GE, and manages the corporate EHS training program for all of GE's EHS professionals.
Prior to her role at GE Corporate, Gretchen led the global emissions and transportation compliance programs at GE's Aviation business headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. She came to the aviation business team after joining GE as the EHS manager for the unit's former Garrett Aviation Services business.
Before joining GE, Gretchen worked in the environmental consulting business, specializing in auditing and implementing industrial environmental compliance programs and assessing environmental liability during corporate transactions.
She has over 15 years of experience with various environmental management programs, and has particular expertise in climate change and environmental compliance. Gretchen is a certified environmental compliance and management systems auditor. She holds a B.S. degree in geology from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
