Josh Usher

Josh Usher is an expert in the field of sustainable transport and energy. He holds a degree in Engineering Physics with a specialization in mechanical engineering. He has several years of experience working with electrified transport technologies from bicycles to trains, solar cars to plug-in hybrids and EV’s. Usher has developed a diverse range of energy projects from modeling of mixed residential, commercial and retail developments to end-use modeling of appliances in a home. Most notable is Usher’s expertise in the research, development and management of groundbreaking projects and studies including: Development and implementation of one of the world's first V2G projects with the New South Wales Department of Environment and Climate Change; Development and implementation of a Plug-in Hybrid EV for one of Australia's largest electricity utilities, Country Energy, with an integrated islanding inverter capable of delivering power to remote devices not connected to an electric grid; Policy research and analysis in conjunction with the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) examining the social, technical and institutional barriers to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and their integration in to the electricity grid. At REV Technologies, Usher oversees the planning and development of the company’s vehicle-to-grid technology, its IP portfolio and the implementation of the technology road map.
