Julian Darley is researching the reflexive relationships and influence that occur between business, government and the public in pursuit of sustainable change. This work involves understanding how economics, energy, policy, technology, communications, education, psychology, sociology, culture and many other factors can interoperate (or interfere) with each other, to enhance (or hinder) the transformation to a green economy. Julian is also interested in how social media can help bridge networking and knowledge gaps to improve and speed up the development of sustainable strategies.
Julian founded and ran a pioneering energy solutions organization, Post Carbon Institute, from 2003 to 2008. He also founded Global Public Media. He is the author of High Noon for Natural Gas: the New Energy Crisis (Chelsea Green, 2004), has an MSc in Environment and Social Research from the University of Surrey (UK) and an MA in Journalism and Communications from the University of Texas at Austin.
Julian lives with his family in San Francisco.
