Prior to GreenBiz, she founded (and was editor of) a regional daily news site on California's central coast where she reported on environmental issues, sustainable agriculture, breaking news, city government, crime, commercial fishing, marine issues, big wave surfing and the arts. She has also been a community and academic researcher, program director, advocate and trainer specializing in a variety of environmental justice and community health issues. Kristine also has a master's of public health from the University of Washington (with a focus on community-based environmental health) and an undergraduate degree in Natural Resources from UC Berkeley.
