In 2010, Zik founded Zik Energy Points to enable corporations to capture the value of sustainability in a practical way.
Prior to founding Energy points, he was the founding CEO of solar thermal augmentation company, HelioFocus, which develops solutions for conventional power plants. Zik led HelioFocus from 2007 to 2010 and currently serves on its board. The company is now growing in Israel and China with strategic partners such as Israel Corp. and the Sanhua group.
Prior to HelioFocus, Zik was the founding CEO of QuantomiX, which he led as CEO from 2000 through its commercialization and sale in 2006. The company, based on his invention, was the first to visualize cells and tissues in their native wet state using an electron microscope.
In 1994, Zik founded the Israel branch of Greenpeace Mediterranean. He led the branch until 1997 to be one of the only cash positive offices of the organization, focusing on clean seas. In 1997, he led a research group at Greenpeace International to identify and promote environmental solutions.
Zik holds a bachelor''s of science in physics and mathematics from Tel Aviv University; a master's degree and Ph.D. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science. He is a recipient of the National Amos De Shalit Physics prize. In 1993, he was the curator of Israel’s National Museum of Science. Dr. Zik holds worldwide patents for his inventions.
