Vinay Gupta co-founded WhipCar.com in 2009, a world's first service that enables car owners to rent out their vehicles whenever they are not in use. WhipCar was at the forefront of the now-popular "collaborative consumption" movement, which TIME recently named as "one of the 10 ideas that could change the world”. Having launched with a single car in London two years ago the service is now available in hundreds of towns across the UK. In 2010, WhipCar was named Best Cleantech startup in Europe by TechCrunch. Gupta was previously a digital media strategist and consultant working with companies such as Fleming Media, MySpace, Emap, Vue Entertainment and the Abu Dhabi Media Zone. He holds an MBA from London Business School and has held senior travel management positions at AT&T and American Express.
