In a move meant to further its efforts toward environmental sustainability, Ferrari unveiled a photovoltaic system earlier this week on the roof of its Engine Mechanical Machining Facility in Maranello, Italy.
The 1075 solar panels will provide the facility with 210,000 kWh annually.
In addition to the new panel installation, Ferrari is also installing a trigenerational plant that will cover nearly all of the company's electricity requirements and cut CO2 emissions by 25-30 percent in 2009.
Ferrari's industrial complex contains 165,000 square meters of green space as well as 200 trees planted in the last six months alone.

Congratulations to Ferrari!
Congratulations to Ferrari. It’s great to see large corporations taking these positive steps toward emissions reduction. Where they lead, hopefully others will follow. A great resource for information on establishing your organization’s baseline carbon footprint is www.csa.ca/carbonperformance
