Who hasn't guiltily sneaked off to the local taco truck for lunch? A Los Angeles-based company called Green Truck aims to reduce the guilt associated with on-the-go lunches by using organic ingredients, bio-compostable packaging, and vegetable oil to power its vehicles.
The Green Truck also uses locally sourced ingredients, a solar-powered kitchen, and green cleaning products.
The food options are tasty, too -- dishes include the vegan Mother Trucker burger, a breakfast burrito with a tofu option, and traditional lunch truck fried food.
But sustainability does cost money, and customers will pay $5.50 more for a breakfast burrito at the Green Truck than at competing taco trucks.
Green Trucks currently serve LA's Westside and Beverly Hills. More trucks will hit Irvine and Santa Barbara in the coming months.

Green Financing
Its nice to see that "green" business are becoming viable business models in these uncertain times.
Our firm, Business Finance Group, has been working with small business operators to assist them with their financing needs through our network of community banks.
In fact, we have arranged financing for green businesses for several companies in Southern California. In particular, we arranged $500,000 in financing to provide commercial solar to a car wash operator in Van Nuys. I believe it was one of the first car washes to go solar.
I feel there needs to be more discussion about financing options available to small business operators.
