Zipcar announced earlier today that it is partnering with the City of Seattle for a program that will provide memberships to its service to city employees— all 10,500 of them.
Zipcar's service includes gas, insurance, maintenance, and 180 free miles each day. With over 60 Zipcars within 10 blocks of City Hall, the partnership will be a boon to both city employees and Zipcar.
Seattle agreed to the partnership after looking at results of a 2008 survey that showed 50 percent of respondents increased their public transit usage since joining Zipcar.Â
The carsharing service also recently announced that it is moving to a new 2,700 square foot office in downtown Seattle.
