Two Steps Forward

34 corporate sustainability execs to follow on Twitter

Sustainability is a vibrant topic on Twitter but the corporate crowd is just catching on. Here's who's who.

Sustainability is a vibrant topic on Twitter, but the corporate crowd is just catching on. A small but growing corps of corporates are now tweeting, to varying degrees. There are a few — like Campbell Soup’s Dave Stangis, Target’s Kate Heiny and Microsoft’s TJ DiCaprio — who seem to be quite comfortable at 140 characters or less, but most don’t seem to have found a voice (or a following). A few are clearly in lurking mode.

We’ve scoured the Twittersphere and queried members of the GreenBiz Executive Network, our peer-to-peer learning forum for sustainability executives at large companies (thanks to my colleague, John Davies, @greenbizjd), to uncover a who’s who of green business tweeters. There are even some double-dippers — execs who tweet both in their own name and their company’s. It’s all good.

Here’s a rundown of what we found. Know of a favorite corporate sustainability worth following? Tweet it my way (@makower) and I’ll share it.
