Learn how the grocery industry can recycle, reduce, and reuse its packaging. The report, which was written in 1998, is designed to help grocers investigate the economic and environmental benefits of reducing, recycling, or reusing old corrugated cardboard, plastic film, and wooden pallets. The report authors worked with Minnesota grocers and suppliers to learn how packaging waste is currently managed, to show potential advantages and disadvantages of certain waste management practices, and to identify realistic options for waste reduction, recycling, or reuse.
