Alan Salzman is one of Silicon Valley’s leading venture capitalists and a global expert in the fields of energy innovation and efficiency. He is the co-founder and CEO of VantagePoint Capital Partners, with over $4 billion under management and offices in the U.S. and China. Salzman has been the lead investor behind a variety of successful technology, healthcare and energy innovation companies including social-networking site MySpace, electric-vehicle maker Tesla Motors, utility-scale solar-power producer BrightSource Energy and LED lighting companies Bridgelux and Switch.
For more than a decade Salzman served as Adjunct Professor for Venture Capital and Entrepreneurial Companies at Stanford University, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and the Climate Group and is active in numerous global clean-technology organizations. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics (GC), the University of Toronto (BA), Stanford Law School (JD) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (LLM).
