Carlos Santamaria

Carlos Santamaria is Vice President of Engineering Services for Glenborough since 2004, He has developed and implemented a national energy management and sustainability strategy resulting in improved building efficiency, tenant comfort, increased asset values, and cost savings. These efforts have earned Glenborough the recognition of an Energy Star Partner "Top Performer" four years in a row. Santamaria successfully managed the Aventine LEED project qualifying the Aventine for LEED Platinum certification in December 2010. With an Energy Star score of 100, the Aventine Office building is one out of only five multi-tenant, 20+ year-old office buildings to have received this coveted award worldwide.
Santamaria has worked in commercial real estate for more than 25 years, concentrating in engineering and construction operations. He leads Glenborough's Sustainability Program, strategically positioning the company as a leader in energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental stewardship. He has served as a Senior Advisors to CoR Advisors and the Realcomm International Advisory Council, and is a Steering Committee Member with the Department of Energy (DOE) Commercial Real Estate Energy Alliance.
