Richard Steinberg


Richard Steinberg currently is the CEO of DriveNow (USA). DriveNow is the flexible, premium car sharing program from BMW introduced to the U.S. market in San Francisco, exclusively featuring BMW ActiveE electric vehicles. Previously, Steinberg served as the Manager, Electric Vehicle Operations and Strategy at BMW of North America, LLC. In this capacity, he was responsible for leadership of the BMW Group Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) programs in the US market including the MINI E, the BMW ActiveE and the upcoming i brand (i3 and i8) vehicle programs. Prior to his EV position, Steinberg was the Manager, Product Strategy for MINI USA, beginning March, 2001.Steinberg was responsible for strategic planning to determine future product concepts, features and technologies and develop pricing and volume strategies for the brand’s model lineup. Steinberg also oversaw the development and implementation of MINI USA’s Aftersales strategy to increase brand exclusivity and improve the post-sale customer experience.
