El Segundo, CA — Topics will include:
· How misconceptions of building physics lead to design and construction mistakes.
· How to separate fact from fiction when wading through product manufacturer claims.
· Proper product application and construction methods that reduce construction defects.
· The impact of heat and moisture transfer on heating and cooling costs as well as choice of insulation.
· How pressure imbalances across the building enclosure impact heat and moisture flow, cause combustion appliance back drafting, and create moisture problems in walls.
· Cost effective approaches to energy efficient construction.
· Causes of and solutions to mold in building assemblies.
The workshop is free to attend and eligible attendees will qualify for a maximum of three CEU credits.
This workshop is designed for engineers, architects, specifiers and others with an interest in technical issues related to non-residential wood design.
