"Today we are formally inviting anyone who is interested and knowledgeable about ecological issues to join us in creating something that we hope will become a valuable resource for society," said Jimmy Wales, Co-founder and Chairman of the board, Wikia, Inc. "As the whole notion of 'going green' has exploded, so too has the volume of related information floating around out there on the Internet."
Anyone can edit the content, leading to a constantly evolving volume of content. The company partnered with ecofabulous to provide an "eco-lingo" column. It will also share tips for municipalities and states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
For businesses, there will also be how-to guides to incorporate green practices and a technology area to explore renewable energy, hybrid vehicles, green computing and cleantech.
