Bosch Rexroth unveiled a new website Thursday to drive sustainable manufacturing in the machine automation industry.

The company will use the site to communicate industry initiatives aimed at improving the environment and green manufacturing, as well as highlight the products it developed to take advantage of alternative energy sources. It also will offer case studies detailing how its technology can help manufacturers utilize renewable energy and reduce waste and energy consumption.

For instance, visitors can learn about the company's GPC Clean pneumatic cylinders, which are used in machines to produce environmentally friendly pouches used for transporting liquids.

"Rexroth's electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and linear motion and assembly products are used in areas ranging from wind energy, trash-to-energy and solar power production, to energy reduction and efficiency improvement programs on the factory floor," Berend Bracht, Bosch Rexroth's North American president and CEO, said in a statement. "Our new website brings all this together in one central area focused on sustainable manufacturing technology."

The site is geared toward manufacturers, engineers, system integrators, OEMs and machine builders.

Bosch Rexroth is a part of the Bosch Group with 2007 sales topping $7 billion.
