NEW YORK, N.Y. -- A new book available only in digital form from Vault.com Inc. profiles the eco-friendly practices and programs of nearly 70 North American companies.

The "Vault Guide to Green Programs" was released this week. The firm says the book can be highly useful to anyone considering environmentally friendly companies.

Vault is a leading resource for professionals and aspiring professionals who seek to manage high-potential career paths. Its publications include more than 120 books online and in print.

Like many of the firms it surveyed, Vault has its own "green team" that looks at products and business practices, the company said.

"As a growing number of Vault's elite career-oriented audience embraces environmental responsibility as a determining issue in choosing among employer options, we want to walk the talk," said Vault CEO Erik Sorenson said in an announcement about the digital book launch.

"In addition to providing valuable information about target employers, we want to publish in a similarly responsible fashion, Sorenson said in the statement.

Other firms profiled in the guide include Accenture, Boeing, Burt's Bees, Seventh Generation, Sony BMG, Starbucks and Whole Foods, among others.
