Canon Brings Recycled Calculators to the U.S.

Canon first launched calculators made from recycled copiers at the start of 2008, and now they're available in the United States.

For more than a year Canon has sold recycled calculators throughout other countries, and now they're available in the United States.

Canon USA now offers three calculator models that have upper and lower casings made entirely of post-consumer recycled plastic. The calculators (LS-154TG, HS-1000TG and TS-1200TG) are made with plastic recycled from Canon copiers.
The calculators can be powered by light or batteries, running on mercury-free lithium coin batteries. Their packaging and paper materials also contain recycled content.

Canon first unveiled its recycled-plastic calculators in January 2008. At that time the recycled models were the LS-8TCG handheld calculator and the HS-1200TCG and TS-1200TCG desktop calculators.

Some countries added other models, and in the year and four months since their launch, recycled calculators have been made available by Canon operations in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and the Middle East.
