Practically all parts of the company's solid-state luminaires, including reflectors, mounting frames and LED light engines, can be recycled through the program.
The products first go back to Renaissance Lighting, and will then get shipped to Potomac Metals Inc. in Sterling, Va.
Renaissance Lighting, whose products are some 80 percent more energy efficient than incandescent bulbs and 30 percent more efficient than CFLs, was recently selected for the 2009 GoingGreen East Top 50 list of companies in recognition of its energy efficiency and energy management technologies, products and product design, and overall market potential.
