MILWAUKEE, WI — At Greenbuild this November in Phoenix Ariz., Johnson Controls will present an expanded second edition of its Building Efficiency Lifetime Leadership awards, which aim to honor individual leadership in the field of energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy.
The company is currently seeking nominations for leaders, and the winners -- chosen by a panel of industry experts and Johnson Controls executives -- will be announced on November 11 in Phoenix.

Winners of the BELL awards will be chosen for their long-term leadership in one or more of the following five categories:
• Energy efficiency in buildings;
• Energy policy development and/or advocacy;
• Energy efficiency product development and/or deployment;
• Renewable energy initiatives; and
• Leadership in energy efficiency communications.
Awards will be presented at the company's Green Tie Affair event at the Greenbuild conference and expo.
Last year, the company presented the first annual BELL award to Paul von Paumgartten, director of energy and environmental affairs for the building efficiency business at Johnson Controls. Von Paumgartten was honored for his participation in the development of the LEED standards, his longtime participation in the U.S. Green Building Council's work on LEED, and his work with the Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments and the Executive Council of the Energy Efficiency Forum.
