Eaton Helps USPS Deliver Greener Post Offices

<p>Eaton Corporation has landed a contract to work with the U.S. Postal Service's Eastern Facilities Service Office on a range of energy conservation projects in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North and South Carolina.</p>

Eaton Corporation has landed a contract to work with the U.S. Postal Service's Eastern Facilities Service Office on a range of energy conservation projects in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North and South Carolina.

Eaton said yesterday that its Indefinite Job Order Contract would cover work that includes energy engineering, audits, lighting retrofits, lighting controls, upgrades to compressed air systems and minor improvements to heating, ventilation and air conditioning at postal facilities in the four states.
 
The contract is the latest involving Eaton and a government organization.

{related_content}Others include an agreement with the San Antonio Military Medical Center on the Fort Sam Houston Army base in Texas for $8 million in electrical products and services. Eaton also is supplying hybrid electric power systems for 35 fuel-efficient shuttle buses purchased by the U.S. General Services Administration for use on U.S. military bases.

On GreenBiz.com, Eaton has mostly been in the news for its electric hybrid propulsion systems and its work to green truck fleets.

The diversified industrial manufacturer also provides an array energy efficiency products and services. In addition to those offered to the postal service, Eaton's portfolio includes power and energy metering, energy efficient uninterruptible power systems, variable frequency drives and refurbishing and retrofit services.
