Software company Computer Lab Solutions has developed a database of incentives that utilities offer for green computing programs.

Computer Lab Solutions, which makes programs focused on data collection and efficiency, created the database to help companies, schools and universities find incentives in their regions.

While some utilities offer per-computer rebates when companies implement energy efficiency software programs, others will cover a percentage of the software purchase and some will pick up the whole tab.

The database includes all U.S. states and Canadian provinces, and Computer Lab Solutions will take feedback if data on utilities is outdated or missing.

Computer Lab Solutions' products include JuicePress, an energy efficiency software program that lets users control when computers should be on, in power saving mode or off; lets users set power schedules for entire labs or individual computers; and provides power use reports.
