Science-based decisions

I'm disappointed by this article precisely because the author dismisses that this is a scientific concern and argues that its just a political one created by liberal activists. The real value of this whole issue is rooted in the science and the author, like he said earlier, really shouldn't comment because he's not an expert. I'm glad that he cited that European and Japanese regulators say the chemical is safe, but BPA concerns are part of an underlying problem in our society. Cancer rates in this country are ridiculous, almost every person has been affected, and instead of looking at the root causes we as a society have just 'adapted' . The author seems very skeptical of alarmists, but there is clear evidence that this contributes to higher cancer rates. The science, not the hysteria, is the reason why most people are concerned.

A good reason to cut down the government

Many of us have said for years that it makes sense- consumers will trust companies that regulate what the sell- it makes sense.
The government has no reason to excel at this- they have a job whether they do well or not. These are not people I want to support or depend on. Companies have a very direct reason to sell safe products- keeping customers for life is good for shareholders.

It's why capitalism works and socialism doesn't.

Excellent article.

Balanced, insightful. Keep up the good work.
