Six Steps to the Greenest Meetings Possible

Green Meetings

The UK Government has given anyone over 60 a free bus pass after 09.30 each morning to anywhere in the UK. If a company had a policy of only employing directors who are 60 years old or over, they could meet at bus terminals for free. Victoria bus terminal in London, the main UK bus hub, should build meeting facilities to benefit from this new market!

Video Conferencing

All of these are great points, but I just wanted to add one more. You mentioned that some people say the best thing to do, is to not travel at all, but face to face is important. That is why the video conferencing industry is growing at an alarming rate. It reduces the amount of travel expenses, but accelarates decision making with face to face communication. Vodaphone save 13,500 flights last year, and reduced their carbon emissions by 5000 tons. That is a significant impact. All by using the Tandberg line of video communication services. Feel free to ask me any questions at my blog, www.bjwest.typepad.com, or email me directly at bjwest@iti-go.com. Thanks!!

Green Your Meeting and Brand Your Message

A best way to green your meeting is to have no waste at all, but if you are handing out collateral at your event, http://www.sustainablegroup.net has some great options from binders, folders, notebooks, namebadges and cd sleeves to choose from. They can be purchased off the shelf or custom screen printed with your message. All of their products are made in the USA and made with locally sourced recycled materials.
