good overiew, but...

is the progression of personal greening to regenerative business practice the necessary and best path? Does civilization really have time for this?
do sustainable business growth and sustainable development mean the same thing?

More to Sustainability than Being Green

Well written article, but I think it falls short of the mark on sustainability issues that fall outside the concept of minimizing energy and resource costs. I think a truly sustainable business needs to consider all aspects that affect the future of the company and society, including human rights, labor practices, community investment, etc.

Sustainability is also staying in business

Many companies go out of business in the long run.

Why? Because there is no longer a demand for their goods or services.

Some companies manage to adapt successfully. For instance, IBM got out of the "hardware" business in the 1980's and transformed into a "services" business and still remain strong.

Whereas Wang Computer never transitioned to the age of the personal computer and failed miserably.

So, to me, sustainability is first and foremost staying in business. Those that can adapt have a better chance of succeeding.
