Great solution !

What a creative, wonderful idea! A green solution to deal with environmental disasters.

Kudos to Matter of Trust and Paul Mitchell.

More to it than that!

These hair mats can also be recycled once they've been used up! How do you recycle used hair and oil? Mushrooms!

Search Paul Stamets on Youtube if you're curious. He worked with the used San Francisco oil filled hair mats and bioremediated them with Oyster Mushroom mycelium!

Cheers,

Travis

Hair has more uses!

Hair can also be used for making clothing for the homeless. There is an underpaid group of underprivileged youth in Chicago called the Hair Tailors who beg for cut hair from salons, make clothes, and then sell them to thrift stores for about 15 cents per article of clothing (sweaters and scarves, mostly.) It is actually rather difficult to tell the difference between hair sweaters and wool sweaters. This is a great example of the creativity of the homeless.

the HAIR TAILORS

just wondering where I can get more info about this Group, and what "TYPE" of hair can "QUALIFY", and the address, as I would Love to be able to know where I could send my "salt & pepper" hair to after I get it cut, I intend to go back to my VERY SHORT BUZZ CUT & SPIKEY on top, lol, as it is driving me crazy at the length it is now, & my hairdresser(A dear FRIEND & Has been the only person to do anything to my hair since 1993 when I graduated & took my State Board in Austin, TX, I no longer do hair, but I am almost positive, she would be interested in information about this group also!
Thanks So Much.
