Sustainable Innovation Expert
Seebode gained her expertise in sustainable innovation through her work with Philips Labs, implementing sustainability as a driver for business and innovation at a global level.
She served as the Senior Director of Sustainability at Philips Research from April 2006 to July 2011, where she worked closely with the Philips Corporate Sustainability Office and the Philips Sectors – Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting. She also represented Philips in the WBCSD Vision 2050 project where she led the work-stream on human well-being. Translating Vision2050 into concrete action, in her paper on Sustainable Innovation
, she introduces four sustainable innovation strategies enabling companies to direct their innovation activities towards sustainable development.
Prior to her role at Philips Research, she worked for 10 years at Philips Lighting, spending her first 6 years in traditional innovation roles like project management in R&D, internal consulting and technology management at the CTO office. She developed a strong and practical expertise in radical innovation when she helped to co-shape a new vision for Philips Lighting and pioneer newly ways of working in new business creation and strategic marketing. Seebode holds a PhD in Physics from the Technical University in Aachen (RWTH Aachen), Germany.
