Retailers doing business in malls and shopping centers face a particular challenge when implementing environmental initiatives, including recycling. This benchmarking survey, published in 2002, includes interviews with eight major retail companies representing more than 10,000 store locations in the U.S., as well as with property managers, waste haulers, and recycling experts. The survey canvasses general practice in retail mall recycling, identifies best practices and barriers, and offers recommendations.
