Cambridge, MA — The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and Sustainable Minds have partnered to advance green and sustainable design among IDSA's members.
The two will work together to bring tools and education related to ecodesign and sustainability practices to those in IDSA, particularly those working in product design.
Sustainable Minds will offer training and discounted subscriptions on its life cycle assessment software, a Web-based program that provides environmental impact information on materials and projects during the design process and provides product comparisons.
The software's life cycle assessment methodology uses a dataset based originally on the 2007 Okala design guide, which has been used by design school, firms and corporations around the world.
The training and discount will be provided to everyone in the IDSA, including professionals, educators and students.
