Calling greening the supply chain "the next urgent step for corporate social responsibility," it walks users through the tools and techniques for integrating environmental criteria in a large, institutional procurement program, from corporate policies, to contractual issues, to community relations. Lyons, head of purchasing at Rutgers University, knows his stuff, and presents it in an easy-to-digest format: lots of lists, bulleted points, and hands-on tips. Lyons relies heavily on his own experiences, but does a good job of including other types of organizational buyers.
