Website: Energy Star for Government

A voluntary partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S EPA, product manufacturers, local utilities, and retailers throughout the U.S., Energy Star is a labeling program designed to encourage large-scale buyers and individual consumers to purchase energy-efficient products.

On this Web site, find tools to track and manage energy performance at your government agency or facility. The site also features helpful backgrounders on devising and implementing energy-management strategies. For example, don't miss the primer "Energy Star for Federal Agencies," which may be downloaded in PDF format. A database of products carrying the Energy Star label are listed in three categories: government office buildings, food preparation, and roadways. Also, view the current list of Energy Star partners and sign up for the program online.
