London, — The British government set up this nonprofit organization in 2001 to help U.K. businesses reduce carbon emissions.

Through the government-sponsored Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme, the organization awards tax breaks to encourage companies to implement energy-efficiency measures and "capitalize on the innovation and commercial value of low-carbon technologies."

The trust also administers the Action Energy program, which provides energy-efficiency advice, information, and support to businesses.
