Washington, DC — A project of the World Resources Institute's Sustainable Enterprise Program, New Ventures supports the creation of sustainable enterprises by accelerating the transfer of venture capital to investment opportunities that incorporate social and environmental benefits. New Ventures has country programs in Brazil, Mexico, China, Indonesia, and India. Through its collaborative efforts to connect investors with environmental entrepreneurs, New Ventures aims to demonstrate that investing in sustainable enterprises makes good business sense.

New Ventures identifies promising enterprises, provides mentoring services, and introduces entrepreneurs to potential investors. Its biannual Investor Forum showcases the business plans of entrepreneurs and facilitates the transfer of venture capital to sustainable enterprises; the forum includes roundtable discussions to help educate the investment community about the role venture capital plays in promoting sustainable entrepreneurship.
