Research projects to study the effects of lighting, green building attributes and ventilation on K-12 students will receive about a quarter of the grants.
The three school research projects are among 13 that were awarded funding. In all, 254 pre- and full proposals were submitted for consideration. The recipients were selected in August and announced on September 9, 2008.

Green Building For the Individuals
I am currently in the process of building a home and really don't understand why there are not yet any grants or funds available to the public for people who want to build green as opposed to just regular homes. I plan on building a passive solar house, but the extra cost of building green has put our project on hold for the moment. If anyone has any information I would be happy to get it.
