Questionnaires for the Purchase of Environmentally Sound Transportation
Published March 23, 2003
In an effort to increase communication within the transportation sector, the Swedish nonprofit Nätverket för Transporter och Miljön (Network for Transport and the Environment), has created four tools including an "Environmental Evaluation of Suppliers." The idea is to refer the supplier to this questionnaire, as part of a request for quotation. The three remaining tools may be used to evaluate the environmental performance of a current route -- one each for rail, truck, and marine shipping. They are designed to be used for freight forwarders that already carry goods for the purchaser.
