ISO/DIS 14001 is an international standard aimed at promoting continual improvement in company environmental performance through the use of an environmental management system.
This checklist from the Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) was developed to improve facility managers' understanding of the elements of the environmental management system outlined in the ISO 14001 international standard and enable a quick review of operations to determine how they measure up to the standard. This checklist can serve as the starting point of a "gap analysis" to identify management tools or other changes that might be implemented in the organization to help improve overall environmental performance.
