Website: California Commissioning Collaborative
This new resource provides an easy-to-follow guide for property owners and managers interested in tracking the energy performance of their buildings and continuously improving them.
Performance tracking is key to ensuring that green buildings are operated and maintained properly so that they perform as designed, saving energy and costs. Going one step further, tracking enables property owners and managers to see how buildings can be improved so that even more value -- and savings -- can be realized. Ideally, tracking and improvement make up a continuous process so that buildings are always on course to increase performance and gain value.
The free handbook includes the basics on building performance in addition to material for those who are already familiar with the concept. The manual also provides the business case for performance tracking and continuous improvement.
Guidance from the handbook, developed by California Commissioning Collaborative with funding from the state's Energy Commission, can be applied to commercial buildings throughout the country.
