WEEC's highly acclaimed GreenStreet expo showcase, introduced in 2007 and co-presented by the U.S. EPA's ENERGY STAR®, will again be a prominent part of the WEEC for 2009. Here you can examine firsthand the latest green / sustainable / environmentally friendly energy technologies now available for both new design and retrofit projects. Conference presentations will facilitate your understanding of these technologies, covering such topics as green building design and retrofit; LEED certification and building commissioning; high performance facilities; federal initiatives; state and local sustainable development programs; the latest developments in renewable energy; reducing carbon emissions; transportation solutions for the future; and green/sustainable project success stories. Other features for 2009 include a free technology workshops held in the exhibit hall, and several free tours of local energy installations of interest. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Held in conjunction with the WEEC for the eighth consecutive year, GeoExchange 2009 is developed jointly by the Geothermal Heat Pump National & International Initiative and the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association, with support of the Association of Energy Engineers.   • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the 13th National Brownfields Conference to be held on November 16 - 18, 2009 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The conference will provide a forum for training, research and technical assistance to communities to facilitate the inventory, assessment, remediation, and redevelopment of brownfields sites, community involvement, and the green and sustainable revitalization of brownfields and contaminated sites.
