The calculator allows individuals and organizations to determine their carbon dioxide emissions from major sources: home/office energy consumption, transportation by car and plane, and in the case of organizations, paper use. This information can be tracked over time, allowing you to gauge the impact of actions you take to reduce your carbon footprint. Basic instructions are augmented by help on pop-up screens on the calculator pages. This tool won't help a major industrial organization assess its full climate impacts (though it could help with some aspects, such as the impacts of facilities and transportation), but it will help smaller firms gauge their climate footprint and determine where effective changes can be made.
