Developed by the nonprofit Environmental Defense, this Web-based tool helps users to measure the environmental benefits of better paper choices and enables companies, communities, schools, NGOs and other organizations to understand and improve their daily paper use. The site makes assessments based on average wood consumption, energy use, and other environmental impacts of thirteen major grades of paper and paperboard across their full lifecycle. Compare the relative environmental impacts of papers made with various levels of recycled content to find out how using less paper or changing other specifications can reduce environmental impacts.
