2007 was the busiest year for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 2000. One sector that saw a large increase in trademark applications was the world of green, with "eco," "earth," "clean," "environment" and "organic" trademarks topping the amounts filed in 2006, some by more than 50 percent.
