Gilbert, Executive Director in Ernst &Young LLP’s Climate Change and Sustainability practice has more than 25 years of experience in assessing environmental and sustainability matters. He assists clients identify, aggregate and externally report sustainability data as well as with the Global Reporting Initiative, Carbon Disclosure Project, Dow Jones Sustainability Index and ISO frameworks. Gilbert advises clients with assessments of operational, environmental and safety risks; supports the financial statement process in the reporting and auditing of environmental liabilities and asset retirement obligations. Industry experience includes agriculture, aerospace, chemicals, government, oil /gas, mining, pulp/paper, textiles and retail. Previously as an engineer, Gilbert has been responsible for calculating air, water and solid waste emissions from numerous and diverse operations. He has established and managed a corporate EH&S and Transportation audit department and managed a corporate environmental compliance program. Gilbert has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor.
