James Salo

Salo is the senior member responsible for Trucost's Research efforts in North America and coordinates Trucost's North American operations, and Trucost's Advisory Panel. At Trucost, he has been the research lead in many large client and public projects including Newsweek's Green Rankings, Carbon Counts USA 2009, Carbon Risks and Opportunities in the S&P 500 and Carbon Counts Asia 2007. Salo holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford University's Centre of the Environment where his research focused on corporate environmental performance and financial markets, and both a BA and an MA in Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University.

Workshop: Inside the Newsweek Green Rankings
Learn from the key research provider that produced the rankings for Newsweek and how they used a combination of quantitative and qualitative data to assess the environmental performance of the world’s largest companies. This session will explore the criteria included in the rankings; the methodology behind the scores; how the rankings can be used for benchmarking performance; and how companies can proactively move to improve their green ranking.
