Katie Excoffier

Excoffier is the Sustainability Manager at Genentech in South San Francisco. She is responsible for sustainability strategy, performance, and reporting. She leads a cross-functional sustainability council with teams focused on energy, water, waste, transportation, green IT, wellness, procurement, and communications. Excoffier also enjoys running Genentech's "Green Genes", a 1300-member employee green team, and networking with other companies to share best practices on sustainability and employee engagement. Before coming to Genentech, she spent 20 years at Varian, Inc. as a software engineer, R&D manager, and business director. Excoffier holds degrees in Biology and Genetics from UCSD and UC Berkeley, and recently completed her MBA in Sustainable Management at Presidio Graduate School.
