Bodhi Rader brings to RMI his experience working at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) where he served as an Energy Industry Analyst for both the Office of Energy Infrastructure Security and the Office of Enforcement. In these roles he focused on electric grid cyber security and compliance and performance audits of utilities to FERC and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) regulations. Prior to FERC, Bodhi served as IT and Communications Officer in the United States Air Force. This is a role he continues in the Reserves as a Cyberspace Operations Officer. In these roles, Bodhi's responsibilities included multi-million dollar IT project management, training, research and development, and leadership in both deployed and home station assignments.
Bodhi's passion for efficiency, renewables, and energy fostered in his graduate studies at the University of Cambridge Engineering program in Sustainable Development. There he worked on sustainability, developing nation, waste-to-energy, and renewable energy matters leading to a dissertation on the previously unexplored topic of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) potential for the UK electric grid. His undergraduate research included virtual reality modeling language and genetic algorithm projects blended with multimedia, along with a healthy dose of Gator pride from the University of Florida where he was recognized as the graduating class Outstanding Male Leader.
