For some products, packaging represents a significant portion of its impact. A great many products are overpackaged, or contain materials that are unrecyclable. Others use petro-based plastics where bio-based ones might do. However, a new generation of packaging is emerging that uses fewer materials, and more environmentally desirable ones.
