I would have liked to hear
I would have liked to hear more about the process of "unshopping". The psychology of behavior change is a very interesting aspect of our successful pursuit of sustainability. It seems this change involves un-learning many things drilled into us by consumer culture. Being for sustainability feels like being countercultural in many ways. Annie Leonard's short animation "The Story of Stuff" relates to this concept, and would have been worth mentioning. Also, many companies purport to recycle used electronics, but how they demonstrably confirm that none of their byproducts are land disposed or exported to places with poor labor and environmental protections, is the tricky question. Because smelters are exempt from many U.S. hazardous waste laws for their slag... and when things get passed along to other vendors it can become difficult to vet the whole reverse-supply chain.
